Tony's DiNapoli (New York)

Lesson number one - go with a group. You'll make the most out of this cozy Italian restaurant ordering their full-sized portions, ideal for 2-4 people. The chicken parmigiana, the various pastas, and even their sides. I got the spaghetti ala vodka sauce with mushrooms and although I'm a meat-eater, I was extremely impressed. The balance of flavour was very impressive. Pasta cooked al dente, of course. Creamy but not too creamy. The waiter was kind enough to do get the chefs to do a single serving spinach. Add a drizzle of lemon juice and sprinkle some parmesan on top and you have a winner side to go with the pasta.

I was just humouring myself when I asked for the dessert menu but when I saw the New York baked cheesecake I just had to get it and I do not regret a thing. Excellent texture - rich and creamy just as a NY cheesecake should be. I'm not even a fan of whipped cream normally but theirs just went so well with the cheesecake. Happy days!
